Fedora Autologin Specified User

November 20, 2009 by: Allen Sanford

Here is a little trick to allow a specified user to Autologin at system boot for Fedora (Fedora 12 at the time of this writing):
I do suggest that if the system has curtial data or is in a somewhat public location (Dormroom, office, house with a lot of traffic through it ….) don’t do this.

vi /etc/gdm/custom.conf

Make sure either add the following:

[daemon]
AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=gerard

It is probably missing but add it anyway. Reboot.

Easy Money!

Enjoy and Have a Good’n!
